UFC Vegas 46: Calvin Kattar Overcomes War Vs. Giga Chikadze

Calvin Kattar has done what no man has yet to do in the UFC.

Kattar (23-5) handed Chikadze (14-3) his first ever loss in the UFC octagon in the headliner of the first UFC event of 2022 on Saturday night. Kattar bagged the win via unanimous decision with scores 50-44, 50-45 and 50-45.

The two fighters held fire inside the octagon for the whole five rounds.

In the first round, Chikadze landed several massive kicks and punches, but made a mistake by missing one of his kicks.

Kattar used this opportunity and held the rest of the round on the ground. Chikadze got tired while submission and sweep exchanges on the ground, and his striking efficiency level decreased.

In the second round, both fighters landed almost equal significant strikers. Chikadze landed 50, while Kattar did 49.

Since the third round, Kattar was dominating. Chikadze defended himself from all the takedown attempts while Kattar suffered serious elbows and punches.

But Kattar came out on top.

Jake Collier earned an easy victory against Chase Sherman via submission neck-crank after landing some serious punches in the co-main event.

Brandon Royval and Rogerio Bontorin offered fans a great battle.

They had serious exchanges on the ground and during the striking too. Rogerio showed that he has some good boxing skills, too. He stunned Royval several times, but still, Royval did a better job in the first and third rounds.

Royyal came out with the win via split decision.

Katlyn Chookagian earned her eighth victory in the UFC against Jennifer Maia and has as many victories as the division’s champion Valentina Shevchenko.
