UFC Vegas 60: Corey Sandhagen Cuts Song Yadong’s Winning Streak With TKO Win

Corey Sandhagen is back in the winning column.

Sandhagen, the No. 3 ranked bantamweight, earned a TKO victory over rising star from China Song Yadong in Saturday’s main event of UFC Fight Night.

Both fighters had their moments and landed great punches.

Sandhagen had the plan of mixing and trying takedowns. He landed elbows in that fight, and in the second round, Yadong already had a huge cut on his left eye.

The doctor looked at that cut until the final rounds. Referee Herb Dean waved off the fight between the fourth and fifth rounds under the physician’s advice.

“Song is good, I knew he was good,” Sandhagen said. “I hate the way it ended. He deserved a fifth round. I wanted to see the scorecards to see if I was winning. But I cut him in the first, and I’m happy about it.”
