UFC White House Competitors Face Off One Last Time Ahead Of Sunday’s Event

The competitors of UFC Freedom 250 came face to face one last time before fight night, on Saturday evening’s ceremonial weigh-in show hosted at The Ellipse park in Washington, D.C.

Following a unique and impressive pre-fight press conference on Friday night, the ceremonial weigh-in show delivered more of the same theatrics, with a bald eagle fly over during the extravagant opening ceremony to kick things off, and a fireworks show to close the show out for the massive crowd in attendance.

In the main event from the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday, Ilia Topuria is set to defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje, who secured interim championship status with his unanimous decision victory over Paddy Pimblett earlier this year. At this time, Topuria is heavily favored to successfully defend his title over Gaethje, who is a +375 underdog according to most betting odds.

In the co-feature, Alex Pereira will make his heavyweight debut as he seeks to capture gold in a third division when he meets Ciryl Gane for the interim belt. Back in March, Pereira announced he would vacate his light heavyweight title, with the goal in mind of becoming the first ever three-division UFC champion. This Sunday, ‘Poatan’ has the chance to achieve a version of his goal by competing for interim heavyweight gold.

All fourteen fighters weighed in successfully on Saturday, making the seven bouts for UFC Freedom 250 official for Sunday evening at the White House. The action will begin at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, with streaming available on Paramount+.
