UFC White House Construction Underway

Construction has begun on the South Lawn of the White House for next month’s June 14 UFC White House event, with the promotion releasing a rendering of the Octagon setup as work gets underway.

A semicircular structure built in Pennsylvania has been shipped to Washington and is currently being assembled, with stands for approximately 5,000 spectators positioned around the Octagon. An overflow crowd will be able to watch on screens set up at the Ellipse. The event marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Ilia Topuria will defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event, while Alex Pereira aims to become the first man to win belts in three weight classes when he faces Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title.
