UFC’s Stephan Bonnar Reportedly Died Of An Accidental Overdose

UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar reportedly died following an accidental overdose.

Bonnar was reportedly found dead on December 22nd, 2022, at the age of 45. The UFC had initially stated that Bonnar’s death was believed to have been a result of ‘presumed heart complications.’

But now that has been re-examined in light of further evidence. According to the Clark County Coroner, Bonnar’s death was caused by a mixture of ‘Fentanyl, Parafluorofentanyl and Mitragynine intoxication.’

This is not the only incident that has been prevalent in combat sports. Bellator Jordan Young’s death was deemed to be a result of accidental Fentanyl and alprazolam ingestion.

It is no secret that Bonnar had been open about his use of opioids. After all, a video of him at a hospital went viral in the background to this.

Not only that, but he alleged that his positive test against Anderson Silva in 2012 had impacted his standing in the UFC.

With that being said, the cause of death has resulted in a widespread reaction.
