Update On Daniel Dubois Vs. Erik Pfeifer
With a matchup against Joe Joyce on the horizon, Daniel Dubois must now focus on the task at hand. The only question is who will he end up fighting?
An initial report by The Athletic stated that Eric Pfeifer is out of his bout against Dubois on August 29. As of now, it is unclear why the German star is out of the fight. Mike Coppinger is now reporting that Dubois (14-0) will face off against Ricardo Snijders of the Netherlands.
WBO International Heavyweight Champion in Dubois made his professional debut in 2017 and has already won the English Heavyweight Title as well as the British Heavyweight Title. The 22-year-old’s last fight was in December, beating Kyotaro Fujimoto via KO. It was his fifth win in a row via some form of knockout and thirteenth overall.
Snijders (18-1) is 2-1 in his last three fights. He last fought in September 2019, beating Istvan Kun via knockout. Making his debut in 2016, Snijders has eight wins via KO.
Dubois will be fighting inside the BT Sports Studio in East London. If he were to win, Dubois would get to face off against Joyce on a potential October fight card. Joyce, the WBA (Gold) Heavyweight Champion, beat Michael Wallisch back in July.
