Update On Jared Anderson’s Next Fight

“Big Baby” is looking to stay as active as possible in 2020. Top Rank is more than happy to oblige.

The promotion announced that Jared Anderson will be fighting once again this summer. He will be facing off against Rodney Hernandez on September 5 from inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I’ve made my home in the ‘Bubble’ this summer, and I’ve enjoyed coming to Las Vegas and putting on a heavyweight show for the fans,” Anderson stated. “I don’t know too much about Rodney Hernandez, but I know he’s been in there with a lot of top guys and usually goes rounds.

“I can’t wait for this one. Top Rank keeps lining these guys up, and I’m knocking them out.”

Anderson (5-0) made his pro debut in 2019. The 20-year-old has competed in three fights already in 2020. In January, Anderson took out Andrew Satterfield via TKO in the first round. Inside the “Bubble”, Anderson has beaten Johnnie Langston (June 9) and Hector Perez (July 16). All five of his wins have come via some form of knockout, with four of them via TKO.

Hernandez (13-9-2) is on a two-fight losing streak. His last fight was a TKO loss in November against Martin Bakole. The 31-year-old has four wins via knockout.

Anderson joins a fight night that has a main event featuring WBO Junior-Lightweight Champion Jamel Herring v. Jonathan Oquendo. Other fights, which will start at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN +, include:

  •  Jesse Rodriguez (11-0) v. Janiel Rivera (18-6-3)
  • Christopher Gonzalez (7-0-1) v. D’Andre Smith (8-0)
  • Ruben Cervera (12-2) v. Rennard Oliver (7-2-3)
