Update On Ryan Hall Vs. Ricardo Lamas
Second time will not be the charm for two UFC featherweights looking to face one another.
MMA Fighting is the first to report that a bout between Ryan Hall and Ricardo Lamas has once again been nixed. The two were scheduled to fight at a UFC Fight Night event on August 29.
Hall (8-1) is out due to an injury. The 35-year-old made his UFC debut in 2015, winning The Ultimate Fighter 22 as a lightweight. He is on a four-fight win streak, beating Darren Elkins back in July 2019 via unanimous decision.
Lamas (19-8) is 1-3 in his last four fights. Debuting in the UFC in 2011, the one-time UFC Featherweight Title contender last fought in June 2019. Back at UFC 238, “The Bully” lost to Calvin Kattar via knockout.
The two were supposed to face one another on May 2, but due to COVID-19, the fight card was postponed. A replacement fighter is currently being looked into for Lamas to face.
The event on the 29th, known as UFC on ESPN+ 33, will be inside the UFC’s APEX Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be Anthony Smith v. Aleksandar Rakic in a light heavyweight fight.
