Usyk & Fury Ready For Trilogy, But Not Yet

Oleksandr Usyk (24-0) says he is ready to face Tyson Fury (35-2-1) for a third time following multiple call-outs by Fury for the trilogy.

“Hi brother, I am ready, every time. I am ready. Las Vegas, New York, Saudi Arabia – anything. Come on! Greedy Belly [Fury] is my friend,” Usyk stated

Usyk’s comments come after Fury said he wants to box him, but not until he has his overdue all-British clash against Anthony Joshua (29-4), which is expected to take place later this year following Joshua’s summer tune-up bout. Fury took aim at both Joshua and Usyk, insisting he remains the most marketable name in heavyweight boxing despite back-to-back losses to Usyk and his April 11 win over the relatively-unknown Arslan Makhmudov.

“Greedy Belly’ is coming for a feast or rabbit pie. First, I’ll start with the chinless dosser Anthony Joshua, and I will knock him out. Then I’m coming back for the rabbit pie [Usyk]. ‘Greedy Belly’ is ready for some more rabbit pie. There’s only me. There’s nobody else. I’m the cash cow. If you want big paydays, it ain’t Agit Kabayel. It ain’t Anthony Joshua. It ain’t Dubois. It’s in the ‘Gypsy King,” Fury said

Usyk has beaten Fury on two occasions — first in their undisputed heavyweight title fight in May 2024 and again in the rematch in December 2024, after which Fury announced his “retirement”, which lasted about a year. Fury has refused to step back from his pursuit of a third fight at the Ukrainian, having made it clear that he felt he won both fights. Usyk is due back in the ring later this month as he’ll be defending his WBC belt vs. champion kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.
