Usyk And Povetkin Will Fight On Same Card
Plans have changed for Oleksandr Usyk’s return to the ring, as he will not be facing Alexander Povetkin in his first fight as a heavyweight.
The two were rumored this week to be facing off in Chicago on May 18th for DAZN, but per a report from Boxing Scene, the two sides will see different opponents.
Povetkin’s promoters at World Of Boxing, balked at the idea of facing Usyk immediately, deciding to face a different opponent.
For Usyk, the leading candidate according to promoter Eddie Hearn is former world title challenger Carlos Takam, who has taken back to back losses to Anthony Joshua and Dereck Chisora.
