Usyk Rules Out One Trilogy

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) has no interest in a third fight with WBO champion Daniel Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs), despite the bout offering him the chance to become a four-time undisputed world champion.

Usyk’s advisor Sergey Lapin made the position clear: “You don’t have to worry about a Dubois fight. There’s not any interest there — for good reason.” Usyk has already stopped Dubois twice, and with a third undisputed run already secured alongside victories over Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, there is little left to prove against Dubois— who claimed the WBO heavyweight title last Saturday by stopping Fabio Wardley in round 11.

The trilogy Usyk is focused on is with Tyson Fury, the fight he has continued to reference publicly as unfinished business. First, Usyk faces kickboxer Rico Verhoeven on May 23 after which he will turn his attention towards other targets.
