Oleksandr Usyk has joined Ukrainian Premier League soccer team FC Polissya on a one-year deal.
The news arrives in the aftermath of the unified heavyweight champion playing for the team in a friendly last year.
During the course of that process, Usyk entered the field as a substitute as FC Polissya overcame Veres to win the game 2-1.
In the aftermath, Usyk vowed to sign for the team if they managed to get promoted to the first division, which they have now managed to do.

“The president of the club Hennadiy Butkevich and Oleksandr Usyk concluded an official agreement on football cooperation for one year.
“Usyk will perform under number 17. Expect other details of the contract later,” club statement
But before Usyk can think about hitting the soccer field, he must overcome Daniel Dubois on August 26th, 2023. And that is the most important thing.
