Usyk Targeting Farewell Fight Vs. Wilder In March

Oleksandr Usyk (25-0, 16 KOs) is targeting a March 2027 fight against Deontay Wilder (45-4-1, 43 KOs) in the United States, advisor Serhii Lapin told The Ring’s Mike Coppinger. Financial terms and a venue have yet to be finalized.

The proposed bout would give Usyk an opportunity to face another major heavyweight name before ending his career. The Ukrainian has already defeated Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua twice each during his run at heavyweight.

Wilder previously held the WBC heavyweight title and remains one of the division’s most accomplished knockout punchers, with 43 stoppages in 45 victories.

Usyk will be 40 years old by March and has repeatedly indicated that his next fight will be the final bout of his professional career.

Lapin has previously discussed Zuffa Boxing as a potential partner for Usyk’s farewell fight, although no promotional arrangement has been finalized.

Usyk’s team remains focused on Wilder, with March 2027 in the United States currently targeted for what could be the final fight of the former undisputed heavyweight champion’s career.
