Vadim Nemkov Retains Light Heavyweight Title, Usman Nurmagomedov Upsets Patricky Pitbull

Vadim Nemkov did it.

Nemkov successfully retained his light heavyweight title by defeating Corey Anderson via unanimous decision in the main event of Bellator 288.

Nemkov not only defended his belt, but also won the Grand Prix money prize and went home $1 million richer.

In the co-main event, Usman Nurmagomedov dethroned Patricky Pitbull in their five-round battle. Two judges scored the fight 50-44, which means Nurmagomedov not only won all five rounds but also earned one 10-8.

The main card was opened by the welterweight banger, between Georgian fighter Levan Chokheli and the #10 ranked welterweight Roman Faraldo. Faraldo is famous for his bombs, and that’s why he had all 8 victories via KO in the first round.

Faraldo was the favorite in this battle, but Chokheli fought strategically . He earned his second and most important victory, with the shot of staying in the promotion, and served an undefeated dangerous prospect first-ever loss.

Chokheli will most likely become the #10 ranked welterweight.
