Vadim Nemkov Vs. Corey Anderson, Patricky Freire Vs. Usman Nurmagomedov Added To Bellator 288
Bellator 288 is set.
The event will be headlined by a Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix rematch between champion Vadim Nemkov and former UFC fighter Corey Anderson, the promotion announced on Monday.
Nemkov and Anderson first met at Bellator 277 in April and fought to a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads in the third round.
Nemkov became the light heavyweight champion when he defeated Ryan Bader at Bellator 244. Since then, he’s also overcame Phil Davis and Julius Anglickas.
Anderson joined the promotion in 2020, but already holds wins over Bader, Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and Melvin Manhoef.
In their co-main event, Bellator lightweight champion Patricky “Pitbull” Freire will take on undefeated rising contender Usman Nurmagomedov.
Freire is returning after pulling out of his Bellator 283 matchup against Sidney Outlaw due to an injury.
Usman, the cousin of UFC icon Khabib Nurmagomedov, secured a title shot after submitting Chris Gonzalez in the first round at Bellator 283.
