Vasiliy Lomachenko: I Want To Beat Teofimo Lopez Very, Very Badly
Vasiliy Lomachenko has had enough of Teofimo Lopez’s trash talk.
Lomachenko and Lopez are scheduled to collide this Saturday night, October 17. The action will be held inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Multiple major world lightweight championships will be on the line.
One thing is clear leading up to this fight and that is that Lopez hasn’t been afraid to take aim at Lomachenko. Lopez and his father have predicted finishing Lomachenko early in the fight. Lopez has even gone as far as to hurl expletives Lomachenko’s way.
For Lomachenko, this hasn’t sat well. He spoke to Ring Magazine and admitted that he’d like to put a beating on Lopez for his words.
“I want to beat him very badly, very, very badly. I want to really beat him badly,” Lomachenko told The Ring in a recent interview. “(Lopez’s father) thinks (Lopez is) a big superstar like Tyson Fury. That’s why they do the trash talk. They act like they’re a big superstar, but they’re not.”
Lomachenko went on to say that the words of Lopez and his father have indeed struck a nerve.
“What do you think? Of course. I don’t like them because they’ve been talking bad things about me which is not real things, not reality,” Lomachenko said. “So, of course, I’m going to not like them because they’re talking too much about me.”
Fight fans around the world will be able to see Lomachenko vs. Lopez. The bout will air live on the major ESPN network and on FIGHT SPORTS in over 50 countries worldwide.
