Vasiliy Lomachenko Planning Comeback Fight Against Charly Suarez

After two years away from the sport, Vasiliy Lomachenko intends to make a comeback against undefeated Filippino contender Charly Suarez.

In his most recent outing, Lomachenko (18-3) defeated George Kambosos Jr. by stoppage in the eleventh round of their 2024 contest, earning the IBF lightweight title. Meanwhile, during the Ukrainian’s time away from boxing, Suarez added two more victories to his spotless record, extending his streak to eighteen.

If Lomachenko can find success in his return, he will put himself in a prime position for a title shot at 130-pounds, as Suarez currently holds the WBO mandatory position for that weight. The winner will be slated to square off WBO and IBF super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete.
