VIDEO: Adrien Broner Sent To Jail For Contempt Of Court

Adrien Broner continues to find himself in trouble with the law.

Broner, a former boxing world champion, was jailed on November 2 for contempt of court. Broner failed to pay a woman $830,000 in a sexual assault case stemming from a June 2018 incident. When asked about his failure to pay, Broner claimed he only has $13 in cash and that the money he flaunts on social media comes from his wealthy friends (h/t Bad Left Hook).

“I’m answering the questions. That’s all I did have on me. I got rich friends. I do. I got wealthy friends that take care of me.

“[The money I’ve been posting] is getting sent to me [by] my friends.”

Broner was also pressed on why his friends would just agree to give him that amount of money consistently.

“I got a big heart. I’ll show you I got a big heart. And when I did have money and everybody asked me for money, I gave it to them. And now that they see that I need help if I ask for it.”

Broner also name-dropped Al Haymon, Gervonta Davis, and Stephen Espinoza as some of his “friends” who have given him money.

Judge Nancy Margaret Russo wasn’t buying the story and felt she had given Broner ample opportunity to pay the judgment. Judge Russo ordered Broner to remain in jail until he provides accurate information about his finances. The information must also be complete.

Here is a video of Broner’s court appearance as well as him being sent to jail.
