Referee Keith Peterson is under fire once again, this time for missing a tap out that cost Fabricio Werdum.
Werdum made his PFL debut this past Thursday night, May 6. He took on Renan Ferreira in the main event of PFL 3. “Vai Cavalo” locked in a triangle choke and it was clear that Ferreira tapped out. Peterson missed the tap and Ferreira ended up getting out of the submission. He then rained down ground-and-pound to knock Werdum out.
This isn’t the first time Peterson has been taken to task for his officiating. Dominick Cruz blasted Peterson for what he believed to be an early stoppage in his loss to Henry Cejudo. Cruz went as far as to say that Peterson smelled like cigarettes and alcohol.
You can check out the missed tap above.
