Plant vs. Truax headlined a PBC on FOX card this past Saturday night, January 30. Plant put the IBF Super-Middleweight Championship on the line. After 12 rounds of action, Plant scored the unanimous decision victory to extend his perfect pro boxing record to 21-0.

The Nielsen Media Research numbers reveal that the Plant vs. Truax event took in an average of 1,887,000 viewers. The event peaked for the end of the headliner, which drew 2,019,000 viewers. This is the highest viewership total for a PBC on FOX card since December 2019.

With the victory over Truax, many are wondering what the next move is for Plant. WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring Super-Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez has made it clear that he aims to unify all the gold. If Plant wants to face Canelo, however, he will have to wait. Canelo is set to take on Avni Yildirim on February 27 and if he wins, then he’ll likely meet WBO Super-Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders.

Plant has said that he feels a collision with Canelo is inevitable. Until then, however, he’s made it clear that he won’t be begging for big fights since he’s already a world champion.
