Vince Vaughn Earns Blue Belt In BJJ

Even though it was his Swingers co-star who portrayed a mixed martial artist,  Vince Vaughn fell in love with Brazillian jiu-jitsu and recently earned his blue belt.

As reported by the Jiu-Jitsu Times, Vaughn studies under Rener Gracie, who posted a photo on Thursday of the actor and himself celebrating Vaughn’s graduation.

When asked for comment by the Jiu-Jitsu Times, Gracie told them that this not just a cool thing for Vaughn to do as a hobby.

We have many celebrity students, but Vince is by far one of the most committed when it comes to attendance and his appreciation for the beauty of jiu-jitsu.

Yesterday, Vince Vaughn earned his blue belt. He began with us in Feb 2016 and he’s been training consistently for 2 years. Occasionally he would need to travel to film a movie, but he always finds a place to train on the road. Vince is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and always takes time to connect with other students on and off the mat.
