Vitor Belfort eyes boxing match against Anderson Silva after De La Hoya fight

Vito Belfort will ditch MMA gloves for boxing gloves on September 11 against former champion Oscar De La Hoya, but he has already outlined his future plan in the combat sport. Belfort, 44, is well-known for his amazing run in the UFC. The MMA veteran has said he wants to try out a boxing match against his former UFC colleague Anderson Silva.

Silva, 46, recently beat former world boxing champion Julio César Chávez Jr. comprehensively. In a boxing bout last Saturday, the Spider outfoxed Chavez with ease to clinch the fight via decision.

Back in February 2011, Silva brawled and defeated Vito Belfort at UFC 126. The Spider retained the UFC middleweight title with a front kick to the jaw that sent the Phenom down to the canvas.
Fast forward to 2021, Belfort seeks revenge against Silva but this time inside a boxing ring.
