The legendary fighter Georges St-Pierre was impressed by Alexander Volkanovski’s performance at UFC 290, going so far as to state that he is the best pound-for-pound fighter.
Alexander defended his title against one of the most dangerous featherweights and interim champion, Yair Rodriguez.
In the first two rounds, Yair was outclassed, but in the third one, Yair started working on his feet.
At that moment, Yair had found his range. However, Volkanovski read his movements, stunned him, to secure the victory.

“The way I see Alexander Volkanovski, he’s not a specialist,” Georges St-Pierre stated in a recent edition of The MMA Hour. He’s very good everywhere.
“For me, when I was fighting, that was my strength. I was not the best at something, but I was good everywhere, so I was able to become the perfectionist to my opponent. I think he is using a similar strategy.”
“When he’s fighting someone, he takes his opponent out of their comfort zone. Oh yeah [I like watching him], he’s one of my favorite fighters to watch.
“I love watching him, I think he’s the best right now. Probably the best active fighter, the best pound-for-pound right now,” St-Pierre
Volkanovski has put himself of the map with his performances, which can only be commended.
