Volkanovski “On-Call” For UFC 240 Main Event
In-case Max Holloway or Frankie Edgar are unable to complete at UFC 240 on July 27th, the UFC have decided to not leave things to the fates as was the case earlier this year for Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum in February.
Alexander Volkanovski tweeted this week that he is at the ready in-case the featherweight champion or the challenger are unable to step into the Octagon at UFC 240.
“Staying fit, staying on weight and staying ready, Volaknovski tweeted on Wednesday. “I wish (Max Holloway) and (Frankie Edgar) good health but I’ll be on standby to save the #UFC240 headliner if need be,”

The UFC takes this caution due to both fighters each pulling out of potential showdowns, with Edgar pulling out at UFC 218, and Holloway pulled due to injury prior to UFC 222.
