Volkanovski Targets A Fourth Fight With Holloway For The BMF Belt

Alexander Volkanovski wants Max Holloway for the BMF Title.

They have fought each other three times, with Volkanovski winning all three bouts. Wins at UFC 254, UFC 251, and UFC 276 showed Volk had Holloway’s number. However, all three were decision wins, showing Holloway could go the distance. Their careers are at a crossroads.

Volkanovski has two stoppage losses in a row. He was stopped by UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. He then lost his UFC Featherweight Title to Ilia Topuria, getting stopped at UFC 298. Holloway is the BMF Champion, knocking out Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.

Blessed ended the fight with a second left to secure a memorable victory. Volkanovski wants to avenge the Topuria loss with the aim of winning his belt back. If that does not happen, he could fight Holloway. However, the Australian only wanted to do so for the BMF belt.

“Would I fight him (Holloway)? I mean, now that he’s got a BMF we might have to do this, you know what I mean? I was always sitting there like, ‘How could you do it?’ But maybe there is that something there, there’s a BMF now. For me, it’s 3-0, how can you get yourself out of bed for that? A BMF is something I haven’t touched before, so maybe we can do that, you know? So we’ll see what happens,” Volkanovski said
