Walker Wants Jones Fight, Wants To “Enjoy It”

Johnny Walker’s rapid ascension in the UFC light heavyweight division may lead to an eventual showdown with the current champion, Jon Jones.

Walker has won his last nine fights , eight of which in dynamic style, including at UFC 235, where he dislocated his shoulder attempting to to the Worm.

“It would make me very happy to fight against him,” Walker told The Body Lock. “I would beat him. I hope I don’t finish the fight very quickly because I want to enjoy the fight, enjoy the moment, because this is my dream coming true.”

Looking at Jones’ next challenge at UFC 239, while Walker wishes fellow Brazillian Thiago Santos well, Walker was honest in his desire to unseat Jones as the king of the light heavyweight division.

“I hope Jon Jones keeps the belt. I like ‘Marreta.’ He’s a Brazilian but I hope Jon Jones wins because I want to beat Jon Jones.”
