Warrington Injured, Galahad Fight Postponed

Josh Warrington’s return to the ring will be put on the back burner, as the IBF featherweight champion has suffered an injury.

Warrington was set for a May showdown against Kid Galahad, but the mandatory opponent will now have to wait while the champion recovers.

The options for Galahad are to either wait on Warrington to return from an undisclosed injury, or take a fight in the interim and hope to be next in-line for the title.

Complicating matters for the mandatory opponent is the potential of a rematch between Warrington and former challenger Carl Frampton, which was pushed aside by the governing body to give Galahad the title shot.

Per World Boxing News, if Galahad does maintain his title shot, the two will face off this summer at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.
