WATCH: Controversial Mike Perry Charged With Assault

This past week, a disturbing video was released regarding UFC fighter Mike Perry, his girlfriend, and an unnamed older individual.

Perry (14-6) was seen being told to leave a restaurant (Table 82) in Lubbock, Texas after getting into an altercation with someone. He told the patrons to call the police as he went on a screaming tirade. An older man tried to get him to leave, and with Perry thinking he was mocking him, stated, “I’ll knock your old a** out” before landing a punch that appeared to knock the man down.

Being told to sit down, Perry screamed while yelling several racial slurs at those around him. As a result, it is being reported that Perry was not arrested but MMA Fighting confirmed that Perry was charged with a Class A assault, and will need to show up to court. He could face a fine of up to $500.

TMZ is also reporting that Perry struck three individuals during his time at the restaurant. Perry stated that people were “putting hands on me as I was trying to leave the building,” and that he was only reacting after others started with him. An employee reportedly asked Perry to leave but the latter punched him instead. TMZ also reported that Perry did not pay his bill, and the restaurant is considering pursuing a theft charge.

“Pending the criminal investigation, we prefer not to comment further because one of the victims was an employee of our company who had asked Mr. Perry to leave,” a rep for the restaurant stated.

MMA Fighting went on to report that a woman, who’s boyfriend was another victim, was also reportedly hit by Perry. Perry was under the impression that the man stated something about his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez.

This is not the first time that Perry has used racial slurs before, as he has done so on social media, video and text. He also was involved in a fight outside of the octagon before, as he knocked out a man outside of an Orlando nightclub back in March. According to ESPN records, Perry also violated probation for a burglary charge with a battery arrest.

Perry would make several statements on social media. The first one discussed why he did what he did, while a tweet right after stated “no comment.”

“If you see us in public and you get too close, I’m gonna hit you. Social distancing says you gotta stay 6 feet away from us. You come in my bubble you getting Sparta kicked in the n**s and f***n stone cold stunnered b***h.”

“Platinum” Perry is just coming off of a unanimous decision win over Mickey Gall back in June in Las Vegas. The only person in his corner was Gonzalez.

It will be interesting to see how the UFC handles this situation. The promotion has not released a statement on the matter. It is unknown if he will be cut from the roster if the court hearing ends up against him.
