This weekend, UFC President Dana White spoke with TMZ Sports, regarding the prospect of Floyd Mayweather joining the UFC.
White, who dealt with Mayweather while negotiating the latter’s 2017 fight with Floyd Mayweather, claims that both Mayweather and the UFC are interested in working together.
When asked who would be the undefeated fighter’s first opponent would be, White claimed that “possibly Conor… I know Conor wants it.”
Mayweather has given a six to eight month training timeline (the interviewer said weeks) for a debut in the Octagon, but White claimed it takes “years of training” to be an elite MMA fighter.
“When someone double legs you and drops you on your head, he doesn’t have a defense for that.”
And White believes it won’t be McGregor’s wrestling that Mayweather would worry about. “Conor has a great submission game, but (Mayweather) needs to worry about Conor’s kicks,” White claimed towards the end of the interview
