WATCH: Gary Russell Jr. Slams Terence Crawford, Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, And Leo Santa Cruz
WBC Featherweight Champion Gary Russell Jr. is taking aim at a lot of names.
Russell has been quite vocal over the past year but he’s certainly received attention for it. He has let it be known that he isn’t happy with WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford. He’s even offered to move up four weight classes to fight Crawford for $1.5 million.
Taking to his Instagram account, Russell went off on four big names. Here’s what he said about Crawford (h/t Bad Left Hook).
“Y’all see Terence’s punk ass ain’t say nothin’. He got completely quiet, now he’s acting like he’s trying to fight other people and all that, he’s a b*tch.”
WBA (Regular) Lightweight Champion Gervonta Davis couldn’t escape the wrath of Russell’s rant either.
“And Tank? Get the f*ck outta here, shorty. I seen your little interview you did, you said somethin’ like, ‘Yeah, Gary too small, he’s this, he’s too small in structure’ — I will f*ck you up.”
WBC Lightweight Champion Devin Haney was also targeted in the rant by Russell. Haney had said he’d accept $1.5 million to fight Russell, who lashed out at Haney for thinking it’s the same situation that he’s going through with Crawford.
“You act like you’re runnin’ sh*t, but you also gotta go back and answer to Eddie [Hearn]. We already tried to motherf*ckin’ holla at Eddie. Tell Eddie pick the phone up. You make it seem like you’re pulling all the strings. You not pullin’ the motherf*ckin’ strings. You still gotta go back and report to Eddie. Tell Eddie pick the phone up.”
Finally, Russell added fuel to the fire in his personal feud with Leo Santa Cruz. Russell referenced a 2019 video where he was in arm’s reach of Santa Cruz’s father and said he could’ve hurt him if he wanted to.
“Leo, you better keep my motherf*ckin’ name out of your mouth. When I wanted to fight your punk ass, you was a cold sucka, you ain’t do nothin.’ If somebody put their arms around me when I get old because they wanna fight my son, my son better beat their ass! My son better say, ‘You know what, daddy, damn that! I’m gonna fight him, I don’t care what the f*ck happens, I’m a fighter, I’m gonna give it everything I got, because f*ck that!’ You’re a b*tch. Stop playin’ with me, Leo.”
Russell hasn’t been booked for another fight at this time. He’s coming off a unanimous decision victory over Tugstsogt Nyambayar. It was Russell’s fifth successful defense of the WBC Featherweight Championship.
