UFC color commentator and podcast star, Joe Rogan, doesn’t see Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. going easy on each other.
Tyson and Jones are scheduled to collide on November 28. It’ll take place inside the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. This will be Tyson’s first bout since an exhibition affair against Corey Sanders back in 2006. As for Jones, his last pro boxing match took place back on February 8, 2018. He defeated Scott Sigmon via unanimous decision to capture the WBU (German version) Cruiserweight Championship.
During an edition of the JRE podcast, Rogan expressed his belief that Jones will have to be on his toes against Tyson (h/t BJPenn.com).
“You better get in a little shape because you are going in there with Mike Tyson. You don’t know what Mike Tyson is coming in there. You don’t know if you need to protect your ears, your chin, your jaw. You don’t know what he’s going to do. So what you better do is get in shape and be prepared for whatever Mike shows up.”
Rogan also said he doesn’t think Tyson and Jones will avoid going for a knockout if the opportunity presents itself.
“When I read it was going to be an exhibition and they weren’t going to try to knock each other out, I went ‘get the f**k out of here,” Rogan said.
