Following a sponsored appearance in London on Thursday, Sky Sports caught up with the man who holds four of the five world heavyweight titles, Anthony Joshua, to talk about his feud with Deontay Wilder.
Wilder, who recently called Joshua out once again on the Viceland show Desus and Mero, claiming Joshua is scared of the Alabama born boxer.
“He’s been calling me out, no offer. We offered him a lot of money, about ten times more than he’s earning,” Joshua said on Thursday
Talking about the claims made by Wilder and his team that $100 million dollars are on the table, Joshua presented his own flat fee to the WBC titlist. “…He wants a 60-40 split. I’ll say this, offer me $60 million straight up and you take the rest of the gate. If there’s $100 million and I take 60%, they should offer me $60 million and I’ll take it in a heartbeat.”
Joshua, who just beat Joseph Parker in front of over 78,000 people at Principality stadium in Cardiff, Wales, cautions Wilder to be realistic. “We looked at the stats and figures, and we realized that a straight up offer is a lot of dough… We offered them a lucrative deal, and we’re just waiting to hear if he’s serious or not.”
In a parting shot, Joshua was asked if he had a direct message for Wilder, Joshua looked the camera and told the “Bronze Bomber” to “sign the contract bad boy.”
