WATCH: Kamaru Usman Survives Early Scare, Stops Gilbert Burns
The UFC 258 main event title fight between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns has wrapped up.
Usman and Burns collided on Saturday night, February 13. Usman was putting the UFC Welterweight Championship on the line. The action was held inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the opening frame, Usman was dropped by Burns. The challenger was aggressive early. Usman ate some more shots in the round but he recovered well.
The story of the second round was Usman’s jab. He continued to connect with the jab and Burns couldn’t find an answer for it. Usman managed to drop Burns twice. By the end of the second stanza, Burns still looked wobbly.
It didn’t take long in the third round for Burns to go down once again. This time, Usman rained down punches and referee Herb Dean stopped the fight.
