Following Kamaru Usman’s win at UFC 235 in March, the new welterweight champion and his next opponent Colby Covington would cross paths in the buffet line of a Las Vegas Casino. They soon would be brawling, with Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz also in the mix.
On Wednesday, TMZ released new footage of the brawl that shows Abdelaziz as the instigator, confronting Covington who is on the line looking to get food.
Usman looks to restrain his manager, while Covington retreated and pulled out his phone to record the incident.
Amid the incident, Abdelaziz charged at Covington, knocking his phone down and would then throw a punch right into Covington’s chest.
Abdelaziz has his fair share of enemies in MMA, especially former UFC double champion Conor McGregor, who called the former WSOF matchmaker a “Terrorist rat” due to an alleged involvement with a Northern Virginia Islamic group that was being investigated by the FBI.
When the incident was first reported, Covington stated that Abdelaziz threatened to shoot the American Top Team fighter, but that was not heard on the tape released on Wednesday.
Usman and Covington have a long-standing issue with one another, getting into verbal and physical altercations for sometime with the two set to fight for the welterweight title later this year.
