It took all five rounds, but Angela Lee was able to successfully defend her ONE atomweight championship at Singapore Indoor Stadium against Mei Yamaguchi.

It would be the same result as their 2016 “Fight of the Year” candidate at ONE Championship 52. And while the fight would lack the same amount of action as their prior fight, Lee would show dominance throughout the fight.

So much so, that Lee almost finished the fight twice, once with an armbar in round two, and a third round rear naked choke that would cause Yamaguchi to be saved by the bed.

Martin Nguyen would also need to go all five rounds as well, but it would be a more narrow decision as the ONE Featherweight champion would retain against Christian Lee in the evening’s semi-main event.
