Hatton returns to the boxing ring after retiring following his loss to Vyacheslav Senchenko in 2012.

During his career, he became a two-weight world champion, unifying titles at super lightweight and one belt at welterweight. BoxRec ranks him as the 11th greatest European fighter of all time and the fifth greatest British fighter of all time.

Finishing with a 45-3 record with 32 knockouts, Hatton fell short against Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2007 by technical knockout and Manny Pacquiao in 2009 by knockout.

As for Barrera, the Mexican boxer held world championships in three weight classes including the WBO junior featherweight title, lineal featherweight titles and the unified WBC and IBF super featherweight titles.

He is best known for his trilogy fight with Erik Morales and two-fight brawl with Pacquiao.

Hatton’s 21-year-old son, Campbell, has been carrying on the family name since Hatton’s retirement. He has won all seven of his pro fights with two by way of knockout.

About six months ago, Campbell told talkSPORT about his father’s potential comeback.

“He’s always training, so you never know what he’s going to do,” Campbell said at the time.

“He might have a go. He’d have to get on the diet though, wouldn’t he?”
