WATCH: Shannon Briggs’ Impressive Training Program
Out of action since 2016, Shannon Briggs is looking to get right back into the thick of things. Even if he doesn’t know who his opponent is, Briggs is preparing like it’s against a top contender.
The 48-year-old Briggs (60-6-1, 1NC) just recently signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. The organization is currently not holding events due to the coronavirus but is planning something big for Briggs down the line. Feeling motivated, Briggs posted a few workout videos showing his intense sessions.
“The Cannon” started boxing in 1992 and fought many times for the WBC and WBO Heavyweight Titles. A former WBO Heavyweight Champion, he last fought in May 2016, beating Emilio Zarate via KO. Suspended back in 2017, Briggs is currently running a CBD company. He was recently seen promoting Logan Paul v. KSI.
Briggs has been trying to book a fight between him and Mike Tyson for a while now. Tyson announced his intentions to return to the ring for charity, and BKFC immediately jumped on the opportunity. The promotion initially offered him $20 million to compete for them, but have since raised that price. Briggs has suggested a tag team bare-knuckle bout featuring Tyson and himself v. Evander Holyfield and Wladimir Klitschko.
As a member of BKFC, Briggs is hoping to succeed in this new phase of his career. Whoever his opponent may be, Briggs will be ready.
