WATCH: UFC 214 Cormier-Jones II Trailers
UFC 214, which takes place on July 29 in Anaheim, California, will be headlined by the anticipated light heavyweight championship re-match between bitter rivals Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. The UFC has made several trailers to build up this long-awaited bout.
The main trailer, called “Tame Your Demons,” describes the rise and fall of Jones. Jones won the UFC title in 2011, becoming the youngest champion in the promotion’s history. While he proved to be an unstoppable contender in the Octagon, he dealt with a lot of personal demons and run-ins with trouble outside of it. Ultimately, in April 2015, Jones was charged in a hit-and-run incident, and he ended up indefinitely suspended and stripped of the title.
Cormier, who Jones defeated in their first encounter at UFC 182, would go on to win the vacant championship at UFC 187. Jones came back and won an interim championship, and the two were set to clash in a title unification bout at UFC 200 in July 2016. But Jones failed a drug test just days prior, and was suspended for a year and stripped of the title.
While the main trailer was released after UFC 213 earlier this month, the UFC has recently released several more mini-trailers and commercials within the past couple of days, with each playing up a different angle of their rivalry.
