Watch: Video Allegedly Captures Cain Velasquez Car Chase
UPDATE (March 7, 2022 4:17 PM ET): Cain Velasquez is denied bail by judge, ESPN reported.
One of the best heavyweights, Cain Velasquez, was arrested on Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
It was later revealed that Velasquez allegedly targeted 43-year-old Harry Eugene Goularte who is accused of molesting a close relative of Velasquez. Reports say Velasquez engaged in a car chase before firing at vehicle, which contained Goularte, his stepfather and a third individual. Recent video allegedly shows this happening.
Goularte, however, was not shot, instead his stepfather was caught in the line of father. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Goularte was arrested and charged with felony a lewd and lascivious actions with a minor under 14. He was released on bail.
Meanwhile, Velasquez is being held without bail. If convicted, he faces a punishment of 20 years to life in prison.
Velasquez is a widely famous and loved fighter.
He is a former UFC heavyweight champion who now trains in AKA. His record was 2-0 when he signed in the UFC and remained undefeated for a long time.
First, he suffered defeat against Junior Dos Santos, but before that, he defeated names like Brock Lesnar, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Ben Rothwell and Cheick Kongo.
His last battle was against Francis Ngannou, the current heavyweight champion, in 2019.
