Watch: Wanderlei Silva’s Son Thor Wins MMA Debut
Wanderlei Silva’s son, Thor Silva, kicked off his amateur MMA career with a TKO victory, a year later after winning his first Muay Thai fight.
Thor, 19, beat Gabriel Bonfim with just 35 seconds left in the opening round.
A proud Wanderlei Silva was seen standing in his corner, smiling ear to ear as he saw his son continue his legacy with a dominant win.
In a video circulating on social media, Thor could be seen securing a takedown early and then unleashing ground and pound before the referee decides that he has seen enough.

Thor was one of the fighters on the card of the MMA portion for Fight Music Show 2. It’s the same event where Cris Cyborg won on her boxing debut.
His father, Wanderlei, is the former PRIDE champion and UFC veteran who has recently retired from MMA at 46 years old.
“Only parents know what it’s like. It’s a totally different feeling, but very emotional, because we know all the things that can happen in a fight,” Wanderlei said before Thor’s MMA debut.
“I’ve been through it all and I know what your own effort is worth. He may be anyone’s son and have all the money available, but in a fight, it’s your own effort that counts. The heart and the training. He’s been training hard and behaving like a professional.”
