Deontay Wilder and Brendan Schaub took to a double decker bus to talk about his road to December 1st and finally resonating with American sports fans.
Wilder gets that chance on December 1st when he defends his WBC world heavyweight title against Tyson Fury at Staples Center and give Fury his first professional loss.
“This is the moment in time for America to wake up and understand they have the baddest man on the planet right here,” Wilder told Schaub for his Below the Belt show on Showtime. “And you think I’m gonna let this gypsy come in here and mess up all those plans for me? I don’t think so.”
Wilder will walk into Los Angeles next month as a slight favorite over Fury, who fights for a championship for the first time since his 2015 upset win over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany.
“Throughout my whole career, guys always said I only had one hand,” Wilder said of Fury’s game plan to out box the Alabama knockout artist. “But when you get in the ring, it’s gonna be different. The game plan is gonna go out the window, like Mike Tyson said.”
