The WBA has called for a purse bid between Hector Luis Garcia and Lamont Roach for the junior lightweight title.
According to reports, the hearing will take place on May 25th, 2023, in Houston. The two sides had been given a 30-day window on March 20th, 2023, to agree to a bout.

Despite expectations that an agreement would be made, the WBA has now taken matters into their hands. Garcia secured the WBA title by winning a decision against Roger Gutierrez last year.
Meanwhile, Roach beat Angel Rodriguez in the WBA final eliminator, making him the mandatory. It is alleged that Garcia will receive a 75 split by virtue of being a champion.
And interested sides must submit a $5,000 non-refundable fee, while the winner will also be required to submit a ten percent deposit.
