Unbeaten lightweight contenders Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield III (19-0, 13 KOs) and “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (20-0, 15 KOs) will meet for the vacant WBA lightweight title on October 10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
“I’ve worked my whole life for an opportunity like this, and I’m just one fight away from accomplishing my dream of becoming a world champion. I’m coming to put on a show and leave Chicago as a world champion,” Schofield said.
“I’ve been waiting to fight for a world title since the first time I laced up a pair of gloves. I’m extremely appreciative of this opportunity,” Bahdi said.
Schofield enters the fight following a first-round stoppage of Tevin Farmer. His unbeaten run also includes a 2024 decision victory over Rene Giron for the WBA International lightweight title.
Bahdi, the WBA’s mandatory challenger, is coming off a decision win over former champion Roger Gutiérrez. His undefeated run also includes his 2024 knockout of Ashton Sylve, which earned widespread Knockout of the Year recognition.
In the co-main event, unified WBC and WBA flyweight champion Ricardo Sandoval (27-2, 18 KOs) will defend his titles against former three-division champion Oscar Collazo (15-0, 12 KOs), who moves up two weight classes for the fight.
“Sandoval is a challenge that motivates me and my team… This fight defines my career, and with this victory, I know even bigger opportunities will come,” Collazo said.
