WBA Super Lightweight Champion Alberto Puello Reportedly Fails VADA Test
WBA super lightweight champion Alberto Puello has reportedly tested positive for a banned substance after failing a VADA test.
According to reports, Puello is expected to lose his title in what would have been his first defense in his upcoming fight against Rolando Romero at 140 lbs.
The pair were set to face off against each other on May 13th, 2023, but those plans have now been scuppered.
Alberto Puello has reportedly tested positive for a banned PED in a VADA drugs test. It's claimed that he's now expected to be stripped of his WBA super-lightweight world title with Rolly Romero to face Ismael Barroso for the vacant belt on May 13th. [According to @BoxingScene]

Romero is anticipated to face Ismael Barroso for the vacant WBA title. The news is another blow to the sport of boxing following Conor Benn and Amir Khan’s failed tests for Clomiphene and Ostarine, respectively.
The former has reportedly been suspended by UKAD as an investigation remains ongoing, while Khan received a two-year ban on the basis of strict liability.
And yet, boxing fans have been vocal once again about another failed test in a fight of such importance. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
