WBC Pres Hopes Floyd Stays Retired

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman feels that a return of Floyd Mayweather would be “unnecessary,” to risk his undefeated record and health at 41 years old.

Mayweather last fought in August 2017, stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the tenth round of his 50th victory, and has plans for two more fights with one being a rematch against Manny Pacquiao.

“Everyone saying it and talking about it (Floyd’s return),” Sulaiman told ESPN Deportes.

“I liked the fact that Mayweather was retired and positioned as a leader to set an example to the young people, that you have to retire at the top. Once you come back you put everything at risk. He is young.. he has money, health, work, opportunities.. every time you get into the ring you are playing with your life.”
