There is a significant experience disparity between Mayweather and Paul. “Money” had 50 professional boxing matches and went 50-0. He is also a former world champion in multiple divisions. Paul has had one professional bout and that was a split decision loss to KSI, who is also a fellow YouTuber.
In addition, there is also a wide size gap. Mayweather competed as a super-welterweight in his last outing. “Money” tipped the scales at 149.5 pounds. As for Paul, he weighed in at 199.4 pounds for his cruiserweight collision with KSI.
The WBC recently had involvement in a high-profile exhibition event. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. were both awarded WBC Frontline Battle Titles following their exhibition clash. The WBC even appointed unofficial scorers for the matchup. Whether or not the WBC will be involved with Mayweather vs. Paul remains to be seen.
