WBC To Investigate Wilder’s Comments
Following comments last week that their world heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, wanted a “body” on his record, the WBC will investigate their champion.
A few days after Wilder appeared on The Breakfast Club, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman took to Twitter to express his outrage.
This is a serious report which cannot go unattended and if true goes against the @WBCBoxing code of ethics https://t.co/o9DQ0QcAny

It’s not acceptable and the WBC disciplinary committee will look into this delicate matter https://t.co/Zr6DJh46jx

I have known @BronzeBomber for a long time, I respect him and do not believe he could say that he wants to kill someone in the ring

Even though Wilder’s comments were shocking, it is not the first time he made this claim in the last six months.
Back in November, Wilder said this about Bermane Stiverne.
“The ambulance better be ready, medical better be ready. The referee better be ready. They better have that towel to be able to throw it in because every blow is gonna mean something. This is death. I want a body on my record anyway! I wanna put a body there! This just got even more personal.
“I beat him to an inch of his life the first time, this time I’m gonna end his life.”
It also may be water under the bridge, as just a day later Sulaiman posted this on his Twitter account.
