WBO Orders Amanda Serrano Vs. Danila Ramos

The WBO has ordered Amanda Serrano to defend her undisputed super featherweight titles against Danila Ramos.

Ramos is the current WBO interim champion, as the order was made on August 28th, 2023. As a result, both sides have ten days to agree to the terms of the bout. In the event that this does not happen, a purse bid will be called. Serrano is currently working under Most Valuable Promotions. Meanwhile, Ramos is represented by O.R. Promotions.

Serrano’s last fight was a unanimous-decision win over Heather Hardy. As a result, Serrano has defended her belts since 2019, when she first became the unified champion against Erika Cruz. In addition, Serrano has secured three wins on the bounce since her loss to Katie Taylor.

In contrast, Ramos’ last bout was a split-decision win over Brenda Karen Carabajal to get the WBO interim title. With that being said, this is what the WBO had to say.

“Please be advised that the WBO World Championship Committee is hereby ordering the commencement of the negotiations for the subject matter bout. The parties herein are granted 10 days upon issuance of this notice to negotiate and reach an agreement as ordered.

“If the parties cannot reach an agreement within the time provided herein purse bid proceedings will be ordered pursuant to WBO Regulations of World Championship Contests. The minimum bid in all WBO Female divisions is $25,000.00 (Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars). Any of the parties herein may request purse bid proceedings at any stage of the negotiation process,” WBO Championships Committee chairman Luis Batista-Salas
