Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman (16-8) is latest inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame, as he will join the ‘Modern Wing’.
Weidman made his MMA debut in 2009, going unbeaten through his first four fights with Ring of Combat before joining the UFC roster. Five straight victories inside the Octagon, including wins over Demian Maia and Mark Munoz, set up a middleweight title shot against Anderson Silva at UFC 162 in July 2013. Weidman stopped Anderson in the second round with a knockout. He backed it up with a rematch win at UFC 168 in December 2013. Weidman went on to defend the belt against Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida before losing the title to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194 in December 2015. Weidman’s final bout came at UFC 310, a loss to Eryk Anders in 2024.
