The PFL has switched up their plan for this year’s events by planning multiple world tournaments, instead of going with the typical season format that they have in the past, and now the welterweight tournament competitors have been revealed.
With the PFL’s acquisition of Bellator MMA in 2023, they added some serious talent to their roster, which makes this upcoming tournament style format even more exciting, as it will give more competitors an opportunity to compete within the next calendar year.
Among the names announced for the 170-pound tournament was Jason Jackson, who is a former Bellator champion, holding a professional record of 18-5. Jackson most recently fought in June 2024, but wound up but wound up falling short on the judges’ scorecards at the PFL presented event ‘Bellator Champions Series: Dublin’. Prior to that, he had achieved a victory over Ray Cooper III, a past PFL season champion, with an impressive 2nd round TKO in his promotional debut.
